Tasha The Celebrant!

What do you feel makes you an inclusive supplier?

As a queer, neurodivergent person of colour, my own lived experience shapes the service I offer as a celebrant, being sensitive and considerate of the different experiences and needs of all my couples.

Helping them to celebrate their love authentically and unapologetically is at the heart of what I do.

I never make assumptions; I ask every individual and couple what pronouns they identify with, and discuss what terms feel authentic to them, because 'bride' and 'groom' doesn't fit everyone!

When we meet to plan their ceremony, we discuss ways to include elements of their own heritage, whether that's through readings, blessings and/or symbolic gestures. We also discuss the logistics of the day, considering things like accessibility and whether veering away from the typical set up of a wedding day would help to ensure maximum comfort and social battery!

I pride myself in being a safe place for couples to land - I'm able to build trust and an openness very quickly, and together we create unforgettable celebrations, bursting with love, fun and personality!

Being able to marry couples from my own LGBTQ+ community is the cherry on top of this job for me!

What do you feel sets you apart from other suppliers?

I think my blend of delivering a sense of occasion, with emotion, laughs and personality is really special - I make it ALL about the couple, in a way that makes them feel celebrated - not self-conscious.

They're able to be truly present, to have the best time of their lives, with the people whom they love the most!

Human connection is so beautiful to me - I'm genuinely interested in how each and every one of my couples found each other, how they fell in love, the memories they've already shared together and all their hopes for their future. Getting to know them is my favourite part of my job (bar the actual wedding of course!). No matter how many weddings I conduct, this feeling will never get old - I love to make each and every couple feel like they have my full attention and dedication. Something a lot of my past couples say is that by the time the wedding came around, it felt like a friend was marrying them - and that means a lot to me!

I'm also extremely organised, so you can trust that I've got everything in hand. And I'd also challenge anyone to find a more tattooed celebrant! Haha!

Time for a very Serious question

we have asked our suppliers…

(Nail-biting stuff)

OUR QUESTION:

IN A POST APOCALYPTIC WORLD, YOU ARE BEING CHASED BY THE MONSTER MUNCH MONSTER. THE OVERWHELMING STENCH OF PICKLED ONION HAS MADE YOUR NOSTRIL HAIRS CURL. WHAT IS YOUR WEAPON OF CHOICE TO END THIS TORTURE ONCE AND FOR ALL?

ANSWER:

In a post-apocalyptic world where the Monster Munch monster is chasing me - THEY better be afraid,

for my wife-to-be has a deep, insatiable hunger for monster munch, and would make easy work of

defeating them, single-handedly! I'd cheer her on, and maybe even have a nibble myself.
